Horse as Landscape 1
Worden, Montana
It seemed as though horses were fixtures in the landscape throughout Montana. Slopes and ridges, both harsh and soft, were present in he land and the horse. I shot photographs of horses in this manner almost everywhere I visited. Here, the flea-bitten grey coat of a mare acts as canvas to the colors of the setting Big Sky sun.
I would like to credit my inspiration for this style:

Onlooker, President Barack Obama in Mansfield, Ohio
August 1st, 2012
Law enforcement and secret service were scattered throughout the crowd and perched atop buildings during the President’s visit to Mansfield. I noted this man through the widow in the building directly behind President Obama’s stage and wondered whether he was secret service as well. Or, perhaps just a local man enjoying the view of the back of the President’s head from the comfort of his apartment.

This was my first experience in the press pool. Hopefully, as my career continues, many more experiences such as this will follow.
